PEN celebrated Defense day in Lahore cluster to commemorate the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan army on 6th, September 1965. The celebration started with National Anthem sung by the students. Ms. Arooj Javed, Co-curricular Officer, PEN highlighted the historical perspective of Defence Day highlighting the sacrifices of Pakistan Army and bravery of Pakistani soldiers in the war of 1965. Students from different classes performed tableaus, sung national songs, painted their faces and enthusiastically participated in Defence Day activities and showed their love for Pakistan army.
Head teachers and teachers also joined the students in celebrations. In their speeches they said, that the whole nation salutes the soldiers who lost their lives in the fight against enemies of Pakistan. They further told about the great martyrs of 1965 war like Major. Aziz Bhatti (Shaheed), whose bravery and devotion played a huge role. He has been given many awards for his outstanding bravery, like Nishane-Haider and "Sword of honour".
Subject Specialist Math, PEN, Ms. Nosheen Akram and other team members also encouraged the students to be brave like those who defend our country and saved the cities of Pakistan. Students were highly motivated throughout the celebrations. They paid the homage to the daring soldiers in the most honorable manner. The Head teacher and teachers also appreciated PEN for arranging such a beautiful event in every school.
